Shelf Pleasure Book Club – Week of August 5th

BOOK CLUB NEWS

Hi Fellow Readers!

Of course here at Shelf Pleasure Book Club we already know that a good book can be life-changing. But it’s nice to know that so many of you agree. Author Amy Gail Hansen stops by to share the five books that came into her life just when she needed them most. See her picks and share yours as well. We can all use a little inspiration.

Last week, one of our contributors lamented the fate of great books that are turned into not-so-great adaptations. This week, another contributor argues that the best adaptations are on the small screen. And as avid fans of Game of Thrones, we are inclined to agree!

The top stories on Shelf Pleasure this week:

As for our personal reading, Kristen and Stacy are thoroughly enjoying Amy Gail Hansen's gothic mystery The Butterfly Sister. A young woman is forced to reexamine her own past when a missing suitcase draws her into investigating the disappearance of her missing dorm mate. We highly recommend checking out this debut.
