From a Station Wagon to SUV’s to a Sedan – which car is the one for your honey this year?
Christmas is ON and if you are looking for the best deals of the year, get your skates on, it is now. I had the chance to test drive the following cars and fell in love with each and every one for different reasons. Here are my thoughts and perhaps they will give you a little insight as to why these cars are each very special.
If you like a fun, perky and easy to handle car with great space, this could be your next car whether you have kids, dogs or just you. This is the kind of car that you’ll feel like bopping around in, it handles like a dream taking curves nice and tightly and yet it is small enough to maneuver easily on narrow roads and in parking.
Volkswagen gives you a lot of bang for you buck. The Golf is no exception.
Starts at $21,395.

You might think muscle cars are for, well guys who want to be hot stuff, but I am here to tell you that you are wrong. This is definitely a hot car with tons of fabulous harnessed power and full of great features, but it is so much fun to drive for anyone. If you are buying for a gal who likes to drive, read on.
The cool thing is Brenna Kaufmann was the Chief Engineer of the Dodge Challenger so don’t you think for one second that she didn’t think about having a women behind the wheel. As a matter of fact, here’s what this Mom of two said to us when we asked her what was she thinking while she worked on this car.
“The Dodge Challenger really provides the best of both worlds when it comes to a car that both looks really good and has all the creature comforts. Despite feeling younger than I really am, I do have to be sure to remember I am a working Mom of two boys, and I need a car that can also provide a means for me to take care of my everyday business. With the Challenger, it does that! First, the trunk is huge and provides plenty of space for grocery shopping, taking kids to activities or loading up the gear we need for a trip. The car drives like a dream. It is comfortable, and I feel safe driving it. The Challenger has available rear camera and cross-path, blind spot detection, forward collision warning and adaptive cruise. I also love the 8.4in screen, which reads my texts to me. In the winter I have warm comfy seats, and in the summer I have nicely vented seats. All of this while having the hottest, most stylish car around – which is also the envy of all the Moms and Dads I see when I am dropping my kids off at school!”

If you are an SUV or CUV person (and I am) you might gravitate to this car. It is spacious and comfortable without the feeling that you are driving a tank sized truck. The third row seating, or as my kids used to call it, the way-way back, folds down flat giving tons of storage room. Yes, this is for the Mom on car-pool or for a long family trip for a family of 4 or with 5 small kids. You’ll want the way-way back lying flat for your luggage unless you get a roof rack.

If you are looking for a car that was designed to handle the roughest of terrain, perhaps like the back bush of the Kalahari, but really need it to navigate the grocery store parking as well as drive up that muddy road from the family’s lake house, you found your car. Luxurious, comfortable and safe, this car fits like a glove for a family of 2 or a family of 6. The best part about the Discovery is the driving experience. It is tight, easy to control and turns on a dime. I drove this car on the winding and steep roads on Mulholland Highway and felt like I owned the road. You’ll be hard pressed to fumble while trying to figure out technology and entertainment system because Land Rover made this system very easy to manage and it is very intuitive.
Starts at $45,570.

The commercials are right. This is not a your grandfather’s Buick but a great around town and long distance driving car. No, this is not your hardworking mud slide, blizzard driving truck. It’s the car you’ll drive to work, pick up the kids after school, go out with the girls for a night out and feel like you are living the life of luxury with out the guilt of having spent the same amount of money you did for your first house. What I really love about this car is the WiFi hotspot, cool and useful electronics and the very smooth and power filled driving experience. If you are in the market for a sedan, I would take a serious look right here.
