An international arts fair with a distinctive Hamptons flair, Art Hamptons celebrates the vibrant local art scene while playing host to top-tier galleries from around the world. Set on the private estate grounds of Maria and Kenneth Fishel, it is the perfect way to kick off the summer season. In addition to plenty of contemporary fine art, Art Hamptons is hosting special tours, VIP parties, panels and programs. Art Southampton, July 7-11, 2016, Bridgehampton, NY
Actress Brooke Shields and Shark Tank host Kevin O’Leary are lending their star power to this year’s Art Southampton, which brings together an international array of artists, collectors, curators and designers. Set on the fabled grounds of the Nova’s Ark Project, the show features the very best in modern and contemporary art, sculpture, photography and more. Brooke Shields co-curates Call of the Wild, a collection of works based on the natural world, while Kevin O’Leary debuts his photography exhibition Irreconcilable Images. Nothing says summer more than a clambake and this year’s beach-chic affair is located on the world-class oceanfront setting of Gurneys Resort. Over 10 surf-side eateries will be overseen by Hampton’s resident Marc Murphy (Chopped). After indulging on succulent surf and turf, stay for the afterparty which kicks off at 10pm. The East End’s North Fork is famous for its premiere wineries, and this is your chance to taste the best of nearly 40 participating vineyards, and sample cuisine from 30 regional chefs. “Iron Chef” Geoffrey Zakarian (Chopped) will be hosting. 10th Anniversary East Hampton Antiques Show, July 23-24, East Hampton, NY
One of the most popular antiques venues of the season, the show features more than 50 antiques and art dealers showcasing exquisite furniture, paintings, jewelry and more. Hosted by the East Hampton Historical Society, the show is nestled on the pastoral grounds of the 17th century Mulford Farm, which features a restored farmhouse, barn and outbuildings. Charity Checklist: All proceeds from the opening night Preview Party, hosted by style-icon and honorary chairperson Aerin Lauder, benefit the East Hampton Historical Society.

Montauk Playhouse Gala, August 6, 2016, Montauk, NY
Join Montauk’s biggest bash at the annual Montauk Playhouse Gala for an evening of food, drinks, music and dance to support of one of its most cherished landmarks. The iconic Playhouse (circa 1929) is named on the National Register of Historic Places and currently serves as a multi-faceted community center. Charity Checklist: The Gala supports efforts to construct an aquatic center and a cultural center in the Playhouse.

Author’s Night, August 13, 2016, East Hampton, NY
Gwyneth Paltrow, Nelson DeMille, Dick Cavett, Mary Higgins Clark and Dr. Ruth Westheimer are just a few of the 100+ authors signing books at the 12th annual Author’s Night, the literary event of the season. Co-Chairs Alec Baldwin and Barbara Goldsmith invite you to eat, drink and mingle with your favorite authors at the opening book signing cocktail reception. Tickets to “after parties” in private homes with participating authors are also available for purchase. Charity Checklist: Proceeds benefit the East Hampton Library, which has been serving the community since 1897.

The 68th Annual Artists & Writers Charity Softball Game, August 20, 2016, Herrick Park, East Hampton, NY.
Long Island’s East End has a rich history of nurturing artists and writers, and each year they “batter up” to benefit local charities. A time-honored tradition, previous players have included Alec Baldwin, Christie Brinkley, Carl Bernstein and Matt Lauer. Note: Former President Bill Clinton once threw out the first pitch. There is a “pregame” preview cocktail party on August 19, and the game starts at 2pm sharp on the 20th. Come early for batting practice and a good seat. Charity Checklist: Proceeds benefit the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center, East End Hospice, Phoenix House of LI and The Retreat.

41st Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show, August 28-Sept 4, 2016, Bridgehampton, NY
A highlight of the Hamptons social season, The Hampton Classic is one of the premiere hunter/jumper horse shows in the country. Celebrating its 41th year, it features more than 100 classes of competition for riders of all ages. In addition to following the equestrian action in six riding rings, you can also visit over 70 vendors housed in a special “boutique garden” for shopping, schmoozing and celebrity spotting. Charity Checklist: The Classic partners with Southampton Hospital and supports a number of charities including the ASPCA and the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation.
