Susan Serra, CKD, CAPS moves within the world of kitchen and home design in several capacities. Susan’s kitchen design firm, Susan Serra Associates, Inc. has been a well respected studio, headquartered on Long Island, since 1991. Founder of Bornholm Kitchen, Susan has developed a stunning, eco friendly, line of cabinetry for the kitchen and home which recently received  two prestigious awards – the KBCulture award and the world-renowned Good Design award in the kitchens category. In 2011, Susan and her business partner and daughter, Kelly Serra Donovan, founded a new brand, Scandinavian Made, a collection of handwoven Swedish rugs and handmade Scandinavian ceramics, new to the US and found exclusively in the Scandinavian Made webshop.

Susan is a go-to source for the media on topics relating to kitchen design. Susan has appeared on Martha Stewart radio several times, and has been mentioned or featured in national and online publications such as The New York Times, LA Times, Financial Times, Newsday, Meredith Publications, Apartment Therapy, HGTV and many more. A speaker in the kitchen and bath industry in the US and abroad, Susan is also proud to be a consultant to major brands in the kitchen and bath industry. Susan thinks about kitchens…a lot!

Basically loves: Scandinavian design! I love the eclectic perfection that the Scandinavians have brought to interior design for decades. Always fresh and innovative yet classic.  I have an ongoing love of photography, a passion since I was a teenager. Growing roses (200 in my last garden) and perennial flowers give me another creative outlet outdoors which I happily share with others (bouquets!)
